Brick Paver Repair in West Palm Beach, FL
Sunken, cracked, or shifting brick pavers on a West Palm Beach driveway, patio, or pool deck? Flat Earth Hardscapes repairs paver surfaces by addressing what causes the failure — the base and the water moving through it — not just the surface symptom. In most cases we reset your existing pavers rather than replacing them, so you’re not redoing the entire surface when the existing pavers can be reused.

Why West Palm Beach paver surfaces fail
Most repairs we’re called for trace back to one of a few causes, and identifying which one you have is what makes a repair hold up. Coastal Palm Beach County soils are often deep, rapidly permeable sands; where the bedding sand or base beneath the pavers shifts or washes out, the surface can settle. Heavy summer rain can move water under the field and, in some cases, undercut the base at edges and low points. Mature tree roots can lift and crack sections from below. A surface-only patch often settles again, so we identify the cause first, then fix it.
Surfaces and materials we repair
We repair and re-level the full range of West Palm Beach hardscapes: brick paver driveways, walkways, and entries; paver and travertine patios; and pool decks and coping. We work in brick pavers, concrete pavers, and travertine, and we match every repair to the material and pattern already in place — running bond, herringbone, or any set layout — so the finished surface reads as one continuous field rather than a patch.
Sunken paver leveling
Low, uneven, and settled pavers are the repair we see most. The pavers are usually sound — the bedding sand and base beneath them have washed out or compacted, so the surface drops. We lift the affected pavers, rebuild and re-compact the base to proper depth, re-screed clean bedding sand, reset the pavers to grade, and lock the joints. Because we correct the base rather than just the surface, the area is much less likely to settle again. Where a whole patio or pool deck has gone uneven, we re-level the full field so it drains and sits true.
Cracked & spalled paver replacement — and matching discontinued pavers
Cracked, chipped, and spalling (flaking-surface) pavers are typically replaced unit by unit rather than by redoing the whole area. The hard part is matching — paver lines get discontinued and colors weather over time. We source the closest available match, and when an exact match no longer exists we pull replacements from a low-visibility spot and blend the field so the repair blends into the surrounding surface.
Joint sand & polymeric re-sanding
The sand in your joints is structural — it locks the field together so individual pavers don’t rock and drift. Heavy summer rain washes joint sand out over time; once the joints are empty, pavers loosen and weeds and ants move in. We clean the failed joints and re-sand with polymeric sand, which hardens to help reduce joint washout and weed growth and to hold the surface together. On a field that’s still sound, a full re-sand is often all it needs.
Root damage & heaving
Mature trees can lift and crack paver surfaces as their roots grow. A patch that ignores the root tends to heave again, so we lift the section, address the offending root within safe limits for the tree, rebuild the base, and reset the pavers flat — a level surface and a healthy tree.
Drainage & erosion
Most recurring paver failure traces back to water. If runoff sheets across a driveway or pools on a pool deck, it can keep undercutting the base no matter how often the surface is reset. As part of the repair we correct pitch and slope, firm up the edge restraints that hold the field in place, and fix the drainage path so the repair holds. In coastal Palm Beach County, sandy soils and heavy seasonal rain make getting the drainage right an important part of the repair.
Pool deck & coping repair
Pool decks take constant moisture, foot traffic, and coping exposed to pool chemicals and sun. We reset sunken and lifted deck pavers, re-level around the water’s edge, and repair or reset loose coping so the perimeter is secure again.
Our repair process, step by step
- Assessment. We find the root cause — base failure, drainage, roots, or lost joint sand — not just the symptom on the surface.
- Careful lift. We remove the affected pavers by hand and set them aside for reuse wherever they’re sound.
- Base rebuild & compaction. We rebuild and re-compact the base to proper depth and correct the pitch so water drains away.
- Bedding & reset. We re-screed clean bedding sand and reset each paver to grade in the existing pattern.
- Joint & edge lock. Polymeric re-sand, firm edge restraints, and a final surface check for a flat, matched result.
Repair or replace?
If the pavers are structurally sound and the damage is limited, repair is usually the right call and less disruptive than replacing the whole surface. When the base has failed widely, we’ll tell you honestly that a rebuild is the better long-term investment. Timelines depend on the size and extent of the damage — we’ll walk you through what to expect with your estimate.

Paver repair FAQs — West Palm Beach
Do you repair pavers, or only replace them?
We repair. In most cases we reset and re-level your existing pavers and correct the base beneath them — replacement is only recommended when the base or most of the field has failed.
My pavers keep sinking after other repairs. Why?
Usually because the base and drainage weren’t corrected — a surface-only patch tends to settle again. We fix the base and the water path so the area is much less likely to move.
Can you match my existing pavers?
Yes — we source the closest available match and blend the repair into the surrounding field, even when the original paver line has been discontinued.
How long does a repair take?
It depends on the size and extent of the damage. We’ll give you a clear timeline with your free estimate.
Do you serve all of West Palm Beach?
Yes. WPB is the northern edge of our service area — we take on repair work here and we’ll be straight with you about scheduling for your location.
