Pavers that hold up to salt, roots, and canal-front ground

Fort Lauderdale’s older neighborhoods — Rio Vista, Colee Hammock, the streets backing the Intracoastal — sit on sandy, canal-influenced ground under a canopy of mature oaks and banyans. Gorgeous to live under, rough on hardscape: roots heave walkways, salt spray eats cheap sealer, and a high water table punishes any base that wasn’t built to shed water.

We plan for those exact pressures — deeper base work, drainage that moves water off the surface, and salt-rated joint sand and sealer. Whether it’s a fresh install or fixing pavers a root pushed up, we build it to stay flat. See our paver driveway work.

FAQ

Fort Lauderdale Paver FAQs

Do you pull City of Fort Lauderdale permits?
Yes. Driveway replacements and most hardscape work inside the city require a permit, and as a licensed general contractor we file for it and manage the inspections for you.
A tree root lifted my walkway — do you have to replace the whole thing?
Almost never. We lift only the heaved section, address the root without harming a healthy tree where possible, rebuild and compact the base, and relay your existing pavers so the repair blends in.
Can pavers really last near the Intracoastal and the ocean?
They can, when the details match the location: salt-rated joint sand, a sealer built for coastal spray, and edge restraints that won’t corrode. That’s our standard spec east of Federal.
How long does a paver driveway take here?
Most Fort Lauderdale driveways run three to five working days from demo to finish, weather depending. You get the schedule in writing with your estimate.
Do you work in HOA and historic districts?
Yes — including areas like Sailboat Bend where guidelines are stricter. We prepare the drawings and material samples review boards ask for before anything starts.
